There was a wonderful turnout for the consultation meeting at St Paul’s today with over 30 people waiting at 11am for the opening and undoubtedly many more across the afternoon. Reps from First did their best to answer the barrage of questions put to them and we were invited to put our thoughts on a survey form. Their man explained that since the service was effectively losing money, changes had to be made, but were insistent that they wanted to do this with input from the local residents.
We let them know that notification of the meeting was not given early enough or spread widely enough – posting in the Star isn’t enough these days. Despite this, they must have had a sense of how strongly Norton Lees residents feel about any reduction to levels of local transport.
